Sure it’s nippy out there but bundle up and come and enjoy all the activities Winter Festival provides through next Sunday. It starts tonight at the Viking Hotel with Beatle Mania. Tomorrow there is Ice Sculpting on Bowen’s Wharf from 11am to 2:30pm-let’s hope for a chilly morning!

 

Chili cook-off; martini contest (at the newly refurbished Newport Grande on Thursday February 19), pizza cook-off are part of the food and drink fun. For the kids there are teddy bear teas, a Children’s fair and sand sculptures on the beach. With over 160 events this winter extravaganza has something for everyone. Very exciting news-Newport Restaurant Week is coming up and the dates have been extended to two weekends! March 20 through the 29 I will be out there “on the town” dining at all the local restaurants and reporting back to you the splendid meals I will enjoy-lucky me! I’ll be giving you updates through the month so get ready for Mardi Gras and Spring is right around the corner.
